Eric Lesh is a figurative artist, gallery owner, and LGBTQ rights lawyer.
As an artist, Eric depicts queer subjects (mostly nude men), and queer culture (mostly gay things and spaces). His work captures form and expression with raw, spontaneous, and minimal strokes in acrylic, ink, charcoal and pastels.
In 2022, Eric opened E. Lesh Gallery in the heart of Provincetown, Massachusetts. He collaborates with life-models in New York, Provincetown, and across the world. Eric completes over 150 commissioned projects each year for clients. He is the founder of several queer life-drawing groups in NYC, as well as Provincetown Figure Drawing, which hosts a running event each Tuesday night at the Gifford House. Eric’s artwork has been featured in solo shows in NYC, Miami, Provincetown, Denver, Allentown, and more. Eric serves as Board Chair of the Provincetown Business Guild, which is committed to ensuring that Provincetown remains The Travel Destination for the LGBTQ+ Community.
As a lawyer, Eric was the Director of the Fair Courts Project at Lambda Legal, served as Executive Director of th LGBT Bar Association of New York, and was recognized as one of the 40 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40 by the National LGBTQ+ Bar. Eric hosts a queer legal podcast, teaches a course in “Law, Gender & Sexuality” at Hofstra Law School, and co-chairs the National LGBTQ+ Bar’s Judiciary Committee.
